Dear
parents and guardians,
On behalf of the entire staff of Yavneh Day School,
I’d like to welcome you to our web site. It is my pleasure
to have this opportunity to tell you a bit about our wonderful school.
Yavneh is truly the finest school I have ever
had the privilege to lead. I can say with absolute confidence that
we do all we can to ensure our students are seen as individuals,
accepted without reservation, treated with dignity, and taught with
integrity. We understand what children need, both academically and
socially, and partner with our parents and the community at large
to create an excellent educational experience.
With that goal in mind, we regularly undertake
a variety of improvement initiatives. For example, we now have a
school garden in which students plant and tend flowers and vegetables.
We enjoy the flowers and use the vegetables in the school kitchen.
We have revamped our elementary science curriculum, have instituted
a remarkably integrated reading program, have designed a school-wide
character education program that we call Wise Lives, and have provided
alternate learning experiences for our middle school students through
weekly academies.
We have come to enjoy being a learning community
and support one another’s professional growth. Simply put,
we are a team. We hope you find your virtual visit satisfying.
Sincerely,

Susan Michel Moore, Ed.D.
